A huge congratulations to Old Peterite and former 1st XV Captain Lucas Oxley, who on Saturday represented England Students' in ‘Le Crunch Universitaire’, in a thrilling 55-42 win against France Universities at Kingston Park, home of the Newcastle Red Bulls. It is a huge testament to Lucas's character and continued effort.
Lucas was called into the England squad following his performances for Newcastle University this season, which has also seen him represent Newcastle Red Bulls Students in their victory against Scotland Students', and attend a Scotland U20s camp over the Christmas period. It is an incredible achievement to be selected in this group, as the England Students' team has a rich history of player that have played for the team that have gone on to represent the Senior Men’s team or play at the highest level of the domestic game.
We're incredibly proud of Lucas achievement and look forward to seeing his continued journey on and off the field.
