Lower Sixth pupil Rowan (Ro) achieved something incredible last weekend, representing Great Britain and Northern Ireland U20 in the 2026 Loughborough International held at the Paula Radcliffe Stadium.
Competing in the men’s 400m, Ro delivered a superb run of 47.82, continuing what has already been an exceptional season. He also ran the first leg of the GB U20 Mixed 4x400m relay, setting the team up strongly as they went on to secure a very credible fifth place.
Ro sits at second in the UK U18 age-group rankings for the 400m this season. With a personal best of 47.24, Ro’s potential is evident and racing in the Team GB set up is testament to his remarkable talent and dedication.
Ro states: “Having the honour to represent my country in both the individual and relay has always been my dream, and to make it come true meant the world to me. I look forward to what the rest of this year has to offer, and fingers crossed to represent team GB again. It is all stepping stones to the LA Olympics.”
St Peter’s has built a reputation for consistent, high‑level sporting achievement, producing athletes who excel across athletics, rugby, cricket and hockey among other sports. Just as Ro’s GB success highlights individual excellence on the international stage, St Peter’s regularly sees its students competing at regional and national levels, making sporting accomplishment a defining part of the school’s identity.
