This week, Junior School pupils enjoyed a special Build a Bowl Lunch, designed to bring healthy eating to life following recent nutrition sessions on gut health and balanced eating.
Children created their own bowls from a selection of marinated chicken or a vegetarian alternatives, wholegrain rice, sweet potato, roasted vegetables and fresh salads. The interactive lunch gave pupils the opportunity to tailor their plates to suit both their individual tastes and nutritional needs, encouraging independence and confidence in making balanced food choices.
A colourful fruit hydration station featuring melon, orange and kiwi proved particularly popular, with some pupils trying new foods for the very first time.
The feedback from pupils was overwhelmingly positive, with comments including "Can we have this every day?" and "This is the best day ever!"
The event was a fantastic opportunity for pupils to put their learning into practice and explore how healthy, balanced meals can be both nutritious and enjoyable.
