St Peter's would like to congratulate pupil Olivia in Year 7 on winning a Team Silver medal for team GB at the recent World Biathle Championships in South Africa!
This is to go alongside the 3 medals she won at the European Championship a few weeks ago in Turkey. This is a truly remarkable achievement and we are proud of Olivia and all the hard work and commitment she has put into her training. She represents our #StPetersValues brilliantly and we wish her every success in future competitions as well.
Olivia only started Biathle less than a year ago and now finds herself a World Silver medallist, 3x European medallist (1 gold, 1 silver, 1 bronze) and an English Schools National Champion. She has shown incredible determination, dedication and enthusiasm to her training. Mr Maycock, Head of Swimming at St Peter's who oversaw her training, said,
"Olivia has been with us since Reception, and I still remember her in armbands in swimming lessons all those years ago. To see her achieve the things she has, is inspiring. She has been a pleasure to work with. We are all incredibly proud of her.".
